We initially received LaScrawnda as a gift from a mexican migrant worker on our farm, he told us that her name was "Lupé" and that she was of Guatémalan descent. We welcomed her in with open arms, and open eyes. She was very shy at first, but warmed up quickly, after about a month at our farm she began to speak, her english was suprisingly good for a cat from Guatémala...almost too good.
It wasn’t long before "Lupé" revealed to us that she had been kidnapped from Compton, CA. Right here in the good old USA. She told us that her previous name had been LaSkranda and that she would like to go back to being called that, but she was afraid of the gang that had kidnapped her. So we came up with a solution that suited us all. She went back to her old name, but we gave it a more "country" spelling. Ever since LaScrawnda has been an integral part of our family.
